How to Transfer Photos from Android to iPhone

Moving from Android to iPhone? Use Move to iOS during setup, or Google Photos and a cable afterwards.

The easiest method: Move to iOS

If you have not set up the iPhone yet, this is the simplest route. On the iPhone setup screen, choose Move Data from Android, download Move to iOS on your Android phone, and follow the prompts. Your photos, contacts and messages transfer over Wi-Fi.

If the iPhone is already set up

You can still move photos easily. Install Google Photos on both phones, back up your Android photos, then sign in to the same Google account on the iPhone and let them download. Alternatively, connect both phones to a computer and copy the DCIM folder across.

Use a cable for large libraries

For thousands of photos, a cable transfer is faster and more reliable than Wi-Fi. Use a USB-C cable or adapter, trust the computer on both phones, and copy the photo folders directly.

Check the result

After transfer, open Photos on the iPhone and check a few albums and dates. Make sure your backup is on before you delete anything from the old Android phone.
